Wonderwood Floors
European Oak Collection — Plank
Wonderwood's core oak floor, and the widest choice they make — 14mm, 15mm and 20mm boards from 190mm up to a 240mm wide plank, in everything from a limed near-white through to a charred near-black. The 20mm boards are the ones worth handling in person: at 240mm wide they read as a genuinely architectural floor rather than a domestic one.

Where it doesn’t suit
Thickness is the decision people get wrong here, and it is not about durability the way it sounds. What the extra millimetres buy you is a thicker wear layer — how many times the floor can be sanded back and refinished in twenty years — plus a more solid feel underfoot. A 14mm board is a perfectly good floor and we fit a lot of them. But if this is your forever home, the 20mm is the one you will still be refinishing when the 14mm has to be replaced. Two other things: the wide 240mm boards need a properly level subfloor or they telegraph every dip, and the very pale limed finishes show dust in a way mid-tones simply do not.

Why there is no price here
The number depends on your area, your subfloor and what preparation it needs — and a preparation surprise on the day is the thing that turns a good quote into a bad one. We measure first, then quote once, itemised.
