Engineered Timber in Sydney

Real timber beauty, engineered for stability

Engineered timber gives you the one thing no imitation can — a genuine timber surface — on a layered core that's far more stable than solid boards in Sydney's climate.

From wide-board European oak to classic herringbone, we help you choose the right species, grade and finish, then install it with the precision real timber deserves.

Why choose it

What timber does brilliantly

Genuine timber surface

A real hardwood wear layer with the depth, grain and warmth only timber has.

Dimensional stability

The engineered core resists cupping and gapping through Sydney's humidity swings.

Adds real value

Timber floors are a genuine selling point — buyers and valuers notice them.

Re-sandable

Quality boards with a thick wear layer can be re-sanded and refinished down the track.

What we stock

Engineered Timber ranges, compared

We supply timber from several manufacturers rather than one. Here is what each range is actually good at — including where it isn't the right answer.

Where it doesn’t suit

Engineered timber is a premium product and it's not the most scratch-proof surface in the range — big dogs and timber floors need realistic expectations. If you want the timber look with maximum durability, we'll show you hybrid alternatives side by side.

Good questions

Engineered Timber, answered

What's the difference between engineered and solid timber flooring?

Engineered boards have a real hardwood wear layer bonded to a stable plywood or timber core. You get the same look and feel as solid timber, with much better resistance to movement, and they can be installed over concrete slabs — which suits most Sydney homes.

Can engineered timber be installed over my existing slab or tiles?

Usually yes. Boards can be glued direct to a prepared slab or floated over an underlay, and in some cases installed over existing hard flooring. Our free measure confirms what your subfloor needs before we quote.

How do I look after a timber floor?

It's simpler than most people expect: regular sweeping or vacuuming, a well-wrung damp mop, felt pads under furniture, and mats at external doors. We'll give you a care guide specific to your board's finish at handover.
