EC solution dyed nylon, heaviest first
Pile weight is what separates these, so they are listed by it rather than alphabetically. Heavier is not automatically better — it is more fibre, which matters in a hallway and is wasted in a spare room.
Comfort Touch
Extra Heavy Duty 2 (6*)
The heaviest carpet EC makes in nylon — 2034g/m² of cut pile twist, which is roughly three times the fibre of their entry loop and about as deep as broadloom gets before you are into wool.
10 coloursBordeaux
Extra Heavy Duty 2 (6*)
A heavy textured loop at 1695g/m², carrying EC's top residential rating and a 13mm build.
10 coloursTuscany
Extra Heavy Duty (6*)
1526g/m² of textured loop on a 3/16th gauge and a 13mm build — heavy enough to feel dense underfoot while keeping the tracking resistance a loop gives you.
10 coloursCoco Bliss
Extra Heavy Duty 2 (6*)
A cut pile twist at 1356g/m², built for softness rather than for hiding traffic.
10 coloursPalmetto
Extra Heavy Duty (6*)
1220g/m² textured loop with a six star residential rating and an 11.5mm build.
10 coloursBirdwood
Extra Heavy Duty 2 (6*)
One of only two nylons here rated four star for contract use as well as six star residential — meaning EC will stand behind it in an office or a strata corridor, not just a home.
8 coloursAndes Peak
Extra Heavy Duty 2 (6*)
1185g/m² textured loop carrying the top residential rating, with twelve colours — the widest choice in EC's nylon range alongside Flinders Gorge.
12 coloursBouclé
Extra Heavy Duty (5*)
1150g/m² of textured loop at just 9mm — a comparatively low, dense build rather than a deep one.
9 coloursAyrton
Extra Heavy Duty (5*)
1085g/m² textured loop, five star residential, built up to 11.5mm — noticeably thicker than Orchard at the same fibre weight, which means a more open, softer-feeling pile rather than a denser one..
9 coloursOrchard
Extra Heavy Duty (5*)
1085g/m² textured loop at 9.5mm, five star residential.
9 coloursBourkesgate
Extra Heavy Duty 2 (6*)
1020g/m² textured loop at 8.5mm, top residential rating, three star contract.
8 coloursDistrict Loft
Extra Heavy Duty (6*)
A cut pile twist at 1020g/m² with a six star residential rating on a 10mm build — the lightest of the three cut piles here, and the one that gets you the soft cut pile feel without going to Comfort Touch depth..
10 coloursLanghorne Hut
Extra Heavy Duty 2 (6*)
The other four star contract nylon in the range, and the thinnest at 8.5mm.
8 coloursFlinders Gorge
Extra Heavy Duty (5*)
882g/m² textured loop at 10.5mm with twelve colours — the widest choice in EC's nylon range, and a five star residential rating that suits ordinary household traffic..

Extra Heavy Duty (6*)
882g/m² of textured, offset loop at 10mm, carrying a six star residential rating despite sitting in the lighter half of the range on weight.

847g/m² of textured loop on a slim 8mm build, six star residential.

9 coloursAcacia Hill
Extra Heavy Duty (5*)
The lightest nylon EC makes at 680g/m², a textured loop on an 8mm build with a five star residential rating.

Not sure solution dyed nylon is the right fibre?
That's the conversation worth having before you pick a colour. We'll bring samples of every fibre we stock, look at how each room is actually used, and tell you which one suits — including when it isn't this one.
