Polyflor's adhesive-free floor: a 5mm loose-lay plank and tile with a non-skid honeycomb backing and the heaviest wear layer in our Polyflor book at 0.7mm. Eighteen looks split between timbers and a strong concrete/mono set, all rated for heavy commercial use.

Where it doesn’t suit

Loose lay is the refit and rental favourite — no adhesive cure time, and a damaged plank lifts out in minutes. Two caveats: it demands a flat, clean subfloor even more than glued vinyl does, and a floor-to-ceiling western window can heat a dark floor enough to move it, where glued Expona stays put. If your room cops hard afternoon sun, we'll usually steer you to Superplank instead.
