Knight Tile Gluedown

Karndean's entry range, glued flat to the subfloor. Sixteen timber designs and six stone tiles at just 2mm, which makes it the thinnest floor we stock — worth knowing if you are matching into existing tile or working around a door that will not be trimmed. Because it is bonded rather than floating it stays put underfoot, sounds solid rather than hollow, and handles a heated slab without complaint.

Where it doesn’t suit

Glue-down lives or dies on subfloor preparation, and that preparation is a real cost that quotes sometimes bury. The floor is only as flat as what it is stuck to, and at 2mm it will telegraph anything you leave underneath it. This is not a weekend job. If your subfloor is unknown or you want it down quickly, the rigid core version of the same twenty-two designs is the easier path — you are choosing an installation method here, not a look.
