Signature's steady seller and the one we quote most often out of the Cashmere Touch book. A 40oz twist on a 10mm pile — short enough to take a hallway, soft enough for a bedroom — in twenty-two shades that run cool: creamy beiges, a lot of stormy greys, and a couple of genuine blues.

Where it doesn’t suit

A 10mm twist is the practical middle of this collection, and that is the real reason to pick it. It will not feel as luxurious underfoot as the 18mm Charmeuse and we would not pretend otherwise — but it holds its shape in traffic where a deep pile flattens, and it is the one we would put down a staircase or a hall. Worth knowing: this is Colour Guard® nylon, which resists fading well, but Signature does not describe it as solution dyed. If a floor is going into a room that gets punishing western sun all afternoon, the solution dyed Callista is the safer specification.
