Hydromate Plus
The long board, and the tougher one. At 1845mm it lays out with fewer end joints across an open-plan floor, and AC5 is the commercial-grade wear class — more than a house will ever ask of it. It adds Wonderwood's Scratch Shield surface and a 5G click, and the water resistance goes to 72 hours. The six décors are softer and warmer than the Hydromate set, running from a near-white through to an olive-brown.

Where it doesn’t suit
AC5 is genuinely more floor than a family home needs, and you do pay for it — if this is a bedroom-and-lounge job with no dog and no shopfront, the AC4 Hydromate will not wear out on you and the money is better spent on underlay. Where the Plus earns its keep is a busy hallway, a home office people walk through in shoes, or a small commercial fitout. Also worth knowing before you commit: 72 hours is still a water-resistant claim, not waterproof, and the narrower 194mm board reads as a more traditional floor than the wide Hydromate — if you came in wanting the wide-plank look, this is not the one.
